Nail Art

Nail colors are my third favorite makeup categories (after lip gloss and eye liner). But the thing with lipstick and eye liner is that I can only wear one color of each due to the nature of my dusky skin: lipstick, maroon and eyeliner, black. Fortunately, nail colors are much more liberal with the skin tones, so I can mix and match the way I want. I rarely go without nail colors (even though they can be chipped, but never bare)! So here I will upload some of my self-made nail arts. I do not claim to be a fashion expert by any means, but I do enjoy it. Feel free to email me at priyakarna14@gmail.com to let me know which nail art one you liked the best. This article will also be updated over the course of time.

PS: glitter over the polish can do wonders!

Traveling

I know, I know, what you're thinking. I like traveling and food, but hey, so does everyone else, so I'm just as basic. Be as it may, I'm still going to post pictures of the places I have visited, in case you are thinking about visiting them, too, and will help you decide with these self-photographed (or in some cases, friends/colleagues with their permission), un-photoshopped, non-internet based pictures. This post will be updated over the course of time. The captions of locations are below the pictures. Enjoy!

"Marriage and role model do not go hand-in hand," they said.

Our whole life, we keep hearing that a lady isn’t a whole unless she gets married and settles down with children. And then, when it comes to representing “the” woman in beauty pageants, she has to be young, never been married, and never had children. The hypocrisy is incredible. A woman can be older AND still be rockin’ it! A woman can be married AND still be successful. A woman can have children AND still be a role model for her gender on this planet. You can take your husband’s last name, and still identify as a feminist. You don’t have to never shave and hate men to identify as a feminist as shown by the the mainstream social media. Honestly, I wonder who comes up with these ridiculous criteria for what a so-called “real” woman should be. Just work hard, don’t hurt others, have good intentions, and mind your own business.

Thoughts

Maybe we were meant to...

Maybe we were meant to drift apart temporarily, to be together permanently.

Maybe we were meant to surrender to our insecurities, to better our maturity.

Maybe we were meant to be indifferent, to really be smitten.

Maybe we were meant to argue constantly, to appreciate our solace honestly.

Maybe we were meant to envy others' happiness, to realize our own calmness.

And maybe we were meant to fly away in apathy, to fall in love again hardly.

Nature

Ah, Nature! Thou art a beauty!

Walking around my neighborhood after what seems like an eternity during the COVID-19 closure, I keep a perspective of just how admirable the nature is. Watching the flowers bloom on the main roads, which otherwise may have been easily shriveled due to the pollution, or listening to the chirping of the birds signaling they are finally free to fly without any external disturbances, give me an inkling of perhaps the current circumstance is ironically letting the nature breathe. Of course, anyone with an appreciation for nature doesn't need to be told twice about its omnipresent beauty. Its aesthetics as high as the mountains, but its realism as deep as the oceans all the same. Perhaps it was the nature's own way of telling us to stop, to take a break from all the chaos and really appreciate everything it stands for. An epitome of ethereal beauty, nature truly is!
